Borobudur is a place of tourism in indonesia especially in Magelang, Central Java. Location of the temple is approximately 100 km south-west of Semarang, 86 miles to the west of Surakarta, and 40 km northwest Yogyakarta
The temple is located in Magelang on the island of Java in Indonesia. Influenced by the gupta architectur of India, the temple is constructed on a hill 46 m (150 ft) high and consists of eight step like stone terraces, one on top of the other . The first five terraces are square and surrounded by walls adorned with Buddhist sculptures.
